Actions & Motives (Open)

(If by some fault of my description you can not understand where Kallion is...It's the Forgotten City.)

Kallion

The portal flashed as it disappeared behind him, one foot touching the ground, then the next. His eyes began to adjust from walking the pathways of light, but they did not need to adjust as much as he had thought they would. He was still nearly blind from the portal and this place made his eyes blink rapidly.

This place, glowed. Mercury pink eyes widened as he looked around the trees that for no other description he could call upon right then, glowed with ethereal luminance. So strange...yet so beautiful. Eyes were drawn to the water and up. Blinking away the spots from before his vision. Was that building made out of coral? It surely looked like it, something straight from the sea, like the Mermaids lived in on his own world. Yet it was on land surrounded by glowing, white trees.

A chuckle left him, a soft chuckle, this place's very calmness brought on a wish to nearly make no noise. There appeared nothing here at all save himself. But no one on his world except Nathan would believe him if he described this place. They would all think him mad, absolutely mad! It was so beautiful here, unlike anything he had seen on his world or in his travels. Letting his wings spread to their full span to stretch lazily as if they were awakening from a long sleep, he knelt before the water.

Fingers trailed in it a moment, before he sucked a droplet from one of his fingers. Appeared clean. Hands cupping he filled them with water, the droplets cascading from his hands to break the water's surface, ripples spreading out, as he brought his hands to his lips to drink.

Vincent decided to travel to the Forgotten City. By chance he had decided to go to a world nearby to Gaia and noticed that the road was open. The Forgotten City was his favourite place on the Planet perhaps even the Universe. It was so peaceful, so sacred here. The entire area commanded respect and awe and wonder.

The enormous white trees glowed gently from within. They emitted a soft glow that gently lit the area. For those unused to the light, or with light sensitive eyes would it may seem harsh but to the ex-Turk it was utterly beautiful. The only other place on Gaia as beautiful as this was there Mako springs and fountain. Only the River of Life istelf was as peaceful and soothing as the Forgotten City. It must have been truly magnificent when the Ancients were numerous in number. It was sorrowful indeed to know that the last had died. Vincent was truly honoured to have known her, even for the shortest of times.

Vincent had decided to spend his time travelling as his morphed form in which he looked like a red ragged cloak and nothing more. He liked this form.  It was mysterious, didn't make him look like a complete monster and it was a fast and efficient way to travel.

Vincent noticed a man in white moving within the city.  When not in a morphed form he usually sat, high in the trees doing nothing in particular.  The man in white had wings which intruiged him but it was the drinking of the water that disturbed him.  Whether he was an experiment, or from another world (then he'd have no idea how this man would react, for whether the danger was still present) he decided it was better to be safe.

"I am not so sure, that is such a good idea,"  Vincent stated from above.  He was great at stealth and moved down a distance from the stanger out of politeness.  His natural red eyes studied him.

Defensively his body tensed. The water still dripped, but his hands stopped. Mercury pink eyes looked up, his pointed ears twitching as he heard words nearby. Eyes racked the trees for anyone, and his lips scowled as it took him quite a bit of searching to finally find the red cloaked stranger. The red eyes disturbed him, he had only ever seen two individuals with red eyes, though this one's red eyes appeared more natural. Perhaps a genetic eye color like his own odd mercury pinks. Not the red eyes of an albino like James and Jay. Damn those two.

Unfurling his wings again he let the water back through his hands into the pond, cascading below to send larger ripples out.
"Oh?" he called back with a white/silvery brow raised. As if asking if the other would further enlighten him.

Did this stranger expect him to take him on such few words alone? Especially with such an appearance that reminded the Paladin far to much of a vampire. On further inspection from a far, this inspection easily read from how Kallion was starring, was judging. Judging in a manner that was natural to the young man. Kallion did not know what to think about the golden clawed hand or the strange golden pointed shoes. But the pale white nearly ashen skin, red eyes...screamed vampire.

Rising from the crouch to his full height of 6'2, eyes remaining on Vincent.
"Then tell me, what is wrong with this place?"

Vincent watched the other man cautiously. There was an air of power to him, authority, confidence. He was of course, not frightened - Vincent Valentine was not an easy man to scare especially when you considered what he had been through. He took in the man's white appearance, noting the pointed ears and decided he indeed wasn't human.

The ex-Turk knew he was being appraised, studied. It was a way of life for him. Everyone he had ever met had looked at him strangely, backed away, or spoke with timid voices. Those were the ordinary citizens of Gaia. People like the WRO and Avalanche didn't even blink. It was refreshing but Vincent had the ominous feeling of being judged and was certain he wouldn't like the conclusion.

"The water may be safe now. I know not of how your kind would react. Still, better to be safe," Vincent stated. He was careful not to make any quick movements for he did not want to provoke an attack.

"It was used as a conduit for mind control a few years ago. The perpetrators have passed on and I am sure there now is no danger but I wasn't willing to take the chance," Jenova cells had a way of lingering, surviving when all thought her to be dead and gone. It was a strange thing but true none the less.

Silently regarding the other  who had not moved but remained as silent as he was now. What an odd man to say the very least. Had an omnious presence around him for certain, though he spoke with an authority and wiseness he had not seen in many so far.
How his kind would react? Hmm, interesting.

Both brows were now raised and he shook his head hard. A conduit of mind control? By the Gods!
The bow was formal, arms crossed before him, a straight backed bow of respect to the man that had told him this.
"Then you have my thanks stranger."

He did not trust yet no, but his respect had risen. The man very well could have saved his life with his words. And for this Kallion would not judge the man for the moment. Vincent had earned that much of Kallion's current allowance of trust and respect.

Vincent returned his respectful action with a nod. No one had ever bowed to him before and it was a strange sight to him. He himself had bowed to his own father as well as the other residents in Wutai which had earned him the title of 'respectable young lad'.

"On the other hand, the water if poured upon the skin will heal many ailments," Vincent informed him. He was sure it would. If the water could cure Geostigma then sure it would sooth a few cuts and scrapes? A cold? If he was incorrect in this matter the information at the very least sounded promising. Many advertisments sounded promising but often those turned out to be false and the products extortionate.

Vincent knew he was being studied but that was fine. He himself was studying the other man with his pale skin, his white garments and his large white wings. They were not black. That was a good sign. He had a courteous manner which inspired intruige within the red cloaked male.

"Your appearance," Vincent ventured. "It may spook the locals. They aren't so used to wings," His own appearance spooked them, he knew, but he was rather sure they were used to it by now, espeically with the WRO's help of 'He's fine, don't worry'. Reeve had been trying to ensure his easy passage from place to place forgetting that Vincent travelled easily and quietly enough already and didn't attract much attention when he didn't want to.

"Welcome to the Forgotten City," Vincent spoke in hushed reverant tones. Aerith, the last Cetra had died here and it was her people's architecture. They were all gone now, but not fogotten. Not while Avalanche and the WRO still walked the land.

"Oh?" his brow raised at the idea that upon flesh the water could heal, but ingested it could cause your mind to be taken hostage. How strange indeed. Though he clearly did not wish to take a chance with such things. Better safe then sorry.

"Most worlds are not that used to my apperance. But I can not hide myself," he answered in return. He could not hide the very heritage he had been born with, Kallion by the very edicts he lived by could not. By all rights he could make the wings dissapear, appear invisible to all who did not have wings themselves. But to do so would be going against his vows and Kallion would not do that for just some people's comfort.
"I will then, have to stay away from larger settlements, I suppose."

Oh well, there was enough to explore of a world beyond it's cities and towns. He knew that well enough after traveling so hard.

The reverant tones of the other male's voice were heard and he glanced back to the coral looking building.
"How was it 'forgotten'? Does this place have a history?"

Vincent nodded. "A lot of the settlements here are large in population. I'd reccomend staying away from Junon and the Costa Del Sol espeically. Kalm and Modeoheim are nice places I guess,"

Vincent preferred the solitude and the quiet relaxed atmosphere of the woods - especially this one. Although he felt his darkness was a taint of the pure osft, gentle nature of the area he couldn't help but feel drawn to it. The whole city was etheral. "This is the city of the Ancients. They died long ago and most of the world have forgotten them,"

Vincent always on his guard sat down by the water and looked to the large coral structure where Aerith prayed long and hard to learn how to use Holy. Her efforts had not been in vain but it was a tragedy she had to die before being able to use it. Still, Holy in conjuction with the Life Stream seemed very effective. "A good friend died here,"

"I wouldn't worry. They are getting used to strange," Vincent informed him. With all the odd things going on and they increasing amount of 'Shinra Mysteries' there was bound to be a toughening skin growing over the general population. After all their kids were stolen and possessed, Sephiroth returned from the dead, people were disappearing into Darkness or being stolen by strange soldiers, the OMEGA WEAPON along with CHAOS were activated and life was nearly wiped out. And to top it all off, there was another kind of Darkness that permeated the entire world and almost swallowed it whole. "They've been through a lot. I'm sure they won't mind so much if you aren't going to attack them. That would be a very bad idea,"

It wasn't a threat, it was a warning. He didn't want this world to come to harm after he went through the effort of trying to save it four times. Gaia seemed determined to keep getting into trouble.
