That smile really was beautiful, soft in the way it touched Leon's face when you were not expecting it too. Cloud had probably seen the brunet smile more times in this short time than he had ever in the time that he had known the man. Opening up anymore then he already had to Cloud was something diffacult to the brunet, and though Leon was never a man for flings this he did not know if he wanted to become more. He did in recesses of his brain but it could stay like this if it had to. He trusted the blonde in battle with his life, had a silent understanding with him and this was just another step.

The other kept pushing against fingers he pulled out slowly eyes intently on Cloud. Something had shifted as it was inevitable it would, they could not just go back to being near strangers to each other, not after this.

The still continued touch was enough to show that maybe just maybe he was not going to be thrown out like used trash.

Cloud nodded, "I'll stay." But there was uncertainty shining deep in his eyes, and that expectation that the brunet would not want more than this. But you could see his relax at the words, eye contact maintaining.

Leon nodded and a sigh slipped past his lips, he was never able to fully say what he wished for the control to be maintained over his emotions. But he knew in doing so he hurt people close to him and it did bother him now, perhaps years ago it had not, but it did now.

Hand reaching to gently brush a fallen spike from Clouds face the uncertainty seen making himself uncomfortable he closed his eyes. What could he say?
"Do you..want more then this?" Finally the words left his lips not monotone but certainly without the uncertainty he himself was feeling inside. Always covering, always concealing what he felt.

Eyes opened again to keep contact with blues.

Mako blues folowed the hand through he did not pull away as it brushed away the stray hair, before meeting the greys and keeping that gaze.

And what could the blond say? Say yes and he might appear too needy, say no and he might loose any chance he might have had.

"I'm fine if you are." A neutral answer enough that Leon could say something if he just wanted this to stay at a fling status, or say if he wished for more. Either way Cloud could walk away fairly unscathed... right?

Besides it didn't matter if he was truly fine or not, just that people believed you were. Then you could go on like nothing had ever happened. Hurt less that way- to go it alone. Less reminders.

The neutral answer was all Leon could have and did expect from the blonde. Both were 'stunted' in their emotions and also their was the fact showing such before anyone.

It meant that neither got anything from the exchange, as it was deliberately ambiguous. No standpoint was made, no gouge so that either could know what the other's true meaning was. How the other felt.

Nodding he he reached to pull the blankets from under them pulling them over to make it more comfortable for them both and save anyone's eyes if they came looking for them. Mako blues closed as he rested next to the other, a murmur of 'night' barely audible.

And in an unconcious move so purely human as he slept, drawn to the warmth of the other body Cloud curled up against Leon, not enough to be too obtrusive but enough that the brunet would feel him against his side, and the warmth provided for him in exchange.

Leon usually did not remember his dreams anylonger, he had had nightmares at first arriving on Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion those years before. But he with forcing himself to push away all that he had done and thought of his former life had been able to sleep more peacefully.

With the warmth against his side he slept far easily and dreamed.

Eyes opening at the crack of light through the window drapes his steels laid on Cloud asleep beside him and fingers moved a spike aside again as it had fallen while the other slept. Though he did not know what he wanted and doubted he would this couldn't be a one night thing, it would end up making it so they could not even face each other without being stiffly civil if they were able to beyond anything else.

But Leon did not know if he could do more...He didn't know if he had it in him after old wounds finally closing.

The blond made a soft murmur in his dreamless sleep, the dreamless part certainly a bonus from his usual nights, mainly because of the fact at least he subconciously knew that someone was there. Many dreams left him alone, accused by the people he had failed and tempted to the darkness. But having someone there made him feel that little bit less isolated.

He seemed to almost lean into the touch as he slowly awakened, blue eyes blinking a few times as he took in the light.

For that simple moment he did not wantt to think, because thinking would mean having to dwell on the awkwardness which was not knowing if the other wanted him there or not.

"I can go." If you want, no simpler way to say it. Leave and they would be condemned to that awkwardness until they spoke this over, leave and it would be Cloud letting go of something he was not sure he wanted to. He looked down for a moment, but if Leon didn't want this he could do nothing.

And of course though he still could not say what he wanted he was going to be forced to. This was always the way of things with people and Leon wondered yet again why he allowed himself to get close. In his younger days he had had it right in so many ways shutting himself off, and forcing himself not to care. For Leon now cared to much. But he tried to hide it with his stoicness.

"You don't have to leave."
Leon did not know what else to say, words had never been a 'friend' of his and they always got in his way. And they were again. Leon was not going to bare himself to explain why he was uncertain of this but yet..What the hell could he say?
"That.." he purses his lips his brow furrowing. Son of a...What the hell could he say??
"That doesn't have to happen again, but it also doesn't have to be-," what meaningless? To say that would..Hyne!

The blond had been almost starting the rise, eyes looking everywhere but Leon, trying to figure out what had happened to his clothes above all, knowing he had been far from paying attention to where they had fallen earlier. His pants were somewhere beside the bed and his boxers even further from it. Looking up with the words he was stuck for an answer as much as Leon had been. You could see he was having trouble by the furrow of that brow and the purse of his lips, something the blond hadn’t noticed until he was this close.

“What is it then, Leon?” The blond said with a sigh, “No I was not screwing with you but... I...” he paused, “Leon, I can't say there was not something there.”

What else more could he say? He was not the type of man to bare himself to people, the vulnurability in doing so was hardly inviting.

Giving enough indication that indeed their had been something there.

The blond sat on the side of the bed now looking back to the brunet with mako blues. He was not sure if the brunet was just humoring him. But he did not know why Leon of all people would. And he did want to stay, ultimately, he did.

But then again nor was the brunet one who was at ease in talking.

He did not know what possessed him in that moment to reach out a hand to touch the other's cheek as he spoke, "Do you want me to stay?"

Not, do you feel obligated and not do you feel anything. The answer to that would be harder to say. It was easier to ask that question which meant far more than it seemed than ask than what he wished to.

Leon finally knew he could no longer beat around the bush and he nodded mumuring a soft but not hesistant, "Yes." He would not show hesitation though he did not know where this would lead now. They had already slept togther...

He pulled the blanket aside in an inviting gesture as much as he could do in his own way to give the indication that his answer yes was not fabricated. He wanted the other to stay and to return to bed.
